Gartner opublikował statystyki sprzedaży telefonów komórkowych w II kw. 2010 r. Sprzedaż wyniosła 325.6 mln sztuk, o 13.8 % więcej niż rok wcześniej. Sprzedaż smartfonów stanowi 19% całości sprzedaży telefonów, co oznacza wzrost o 50.5% w porównaniu do II kw. 2009 r. Na 8 miejscu zestawiania po raz pierwszy w TOP10 pojawiła się marka HTC.
